Border Marking – Red Posts

The Committee has this week started the Woodley Town Council (WTC) project to re-mark out all the plots on our Allotment site.

Over the next few months, you will begin to see red topped stakes appearing on your plot areas, these will serve two purposes.

One is to define the area of your plots as WTC believe it to be, the other is to define an approx. 40cm divide/pathway between the sides of each defined plot, these in some cases have completely disappeared and need to be reestablished. The final divide/pathway between the rear of adjoining plots (e.g. B/C, D/E, F/G & H/J) due to the erratic nature of some of the read divide/pathways will be addressed later on.

Once you see the Red topped stakes on your plot, please do not move or remove them. If you believe that there has been an error made in the marking of your plot/border, please contact the Committee on this email address and we will meet with you to address the issue.

This project will take some time to complete and may appear at times being randomly carried out. However, we appreciate all tenant’s cooperation during the period of this task.

Many thanks &
Kind regards

NOTICE OF URGENT INFORMATION FOR ALL ALLOTMENT TENANTS

Allotment Plot A30 – Sport in Mind Charity activity morning for children.
Sunday 13th February 2022

Although the Committee were not consulted about this and have yet to be officially informed by the Sport in Mind charity, the Committee has recently been made aware that the charity has independently arranged an activity morning for children from 10am -12noon at the Reading Road allotment site on the Sport in Mind allotment Plot – A30 this Sunday 13th February.

The Committee have been given no details so cannot confirm how many children have been invited, what they will be doing or where they will be going.

We understand they are to be dropped off but we also have no additional information about how parents will access the site and whether this could be an issue for tenants planning to visit their allotment plots.

We therefore ask you to be mindful that there may be children walking around the allotment site and, if you are visiting your allotment plot this Sunday morning, we urge you to keep a watchful eye and stick rigidly to the 5mph speed limits at all times.

If you have any concerns about this event or would like to comment
please contact Woodley Town Council on admin@woodley.gov.uk
