As you will already know from previous posts and information from Woodley Town Council (WTC), posted on the Main Gates and Notice Board, the Committee will be carrying out plot inspections on behalf of the Council during the week commencing 28th September 2026. These inspections will be carried out in line with the WTC 2026 Plot Inspections Policy.
To help tenants better understand what this means in practice, the Committee has updated its document, “Plot Inspections – What are the Criteria?”, in line with the new WTC policy. A copy of the updated document is attached to this email.
We hope this updated guidance will be helpful and will support tenants in meeting the inspection criteria.

Just when you thought it was time for a bit of a rest after the hottest year ever on our allotment plots, it’s now time to start thinking about what you’re going to grow next year and getting those seed orders sorted! Time to grab a cuppa, get planning, and start deciding what’s going where. 🌻🥕🍅
Teresa Buley (Plot E18) will be once again be running the organising of the seed ordering.
The process for placing this year’s seed order is much the same as before. However, Dobies are moving increasingly towards online ordering and have only sent us a small number of paper catalogues this year, so they are very much in short supply.

Our latest monthly meeting was held on 24th August 2026. The meeting took the form of an update from the Committee on what we have been doing and what to expect over the next few months.
You can find a copy of the slides from the meeting below, as well as a separate copy of the results of the Water Survey carried out in August. A few more people have responded to the survey since our meeting on 24th August, so these results are more up to date. Simply click on the relevant image to download your own copy.
The survey results have raised several further questions, which will be covered in a separate discussion document to be issued shortly.
