Change of date for the August Monthly Meeting – Now on the 24th August 2026

As they say, more haste less speed!!! Of course this should have read August 24th and not September! Apologies for the error,

Hi Everyone,

This is to let you know that we have moved the date of the August Monthly Meeting to Monday 24th August, at the usual time of 7.30pm, at the Oakwood Centre in Woodley (www.woodley.gov.uk/council-services/oakwood-centre).

This meeting will take the form of a half-term report, where the Committee will report on what has been happening over the past few months since the last AGM, as well as what is planned for the rest of the Committee year.

We are also looking forward to hearing your feedback about the allotment site, including how you think it is looking and how it could be further improved in areas such as water resources, security, etc.

If you have any specific thoughts or suggestions, please let us know by responding to our normal email address of readingroadplots@woodley-allotments.org.uk and we will aim to address these during the meeting.

WATA General Meeting – Monday 15th December – Update and Christmas Social

Hi everyone. Our next Association General Meeting will be held on Monday 15th December 2025 at 7.30pm at the Oakwood Centre in Woodley.

Unfortiunaltley, due to some last minute logistical issues, we will not be having a guest speaker. We will instead have another update meeting – and a Q & A session, combined with a Christmas Social with Mulled Wine and Minced Pies available.

Please let us know as soon as possible via readingroadplots@woodley-allotments.org.uk or by replying to this post if you will be attending so we know how many people to cater for.

WATA – Monthly Meeting Minutes – 10th November 2025

Whilst, we did cover some allotment business (see minutes). The main event was for listening to our guest speaker, Tony Lack from the Wokingham Beekeepers Association

Another great presentation, I did not know the life of bees were so involved.

WATA – Monthly Meeting Minutes – 13th Oct. 2025

Whilst we did cover some allotment business (see minutes). The main event was for listening to our guest speakers, Daniel Tyrkiel & Dr. Frida Mariana from the Soil Ecology Laboratory.

What an amazing presentation, it was also great to get some of our Compost/Soil samples analysed in front of us. Many thanks go to our secretary Wendy Wilkinson for managing to capture all that she did for the minutes.
